Marlow Regatta Race Report

Last weekend the senior performance men took a 4+ to Marlow Regatta, held at Dorney Lake. Time trials kicked off with the four racing down the 1.9K course at 9:33am. With the attitude of ‘let’s do the best we can’ the boys stormed down the course gaining on Southampton in front and holding off Edinburgh A and B behind. Coming off the water happy with the race and then finding out they were 1.5 seconds off the A final with crews like Bristol, York and Surrey, fuelled their drive for the B final. Nerves on the start line were heightened as they stake boated in very tough windy conditions. As soon as ‘Attention Go’ was called there was no messing about, getting a canvas up before 250m. The race ran smoothly, keeping a constant lead ahead of the other 5 crews. The boys came off the water beaming, an amazing end to an awesome season.
