SCHOLARSHIPS
UOLBC offers two scholarship schemes to support our dedication to high performance sport. Could you be our next GB trialist..?
SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship awarded to athletes identified as ‘Sport Scholars’ will receive in kind benefits from the University to the value upwards of £1800, this includes:

Access to the sports facilities at the university for respective training programmes

‘Cost of sport funding’ awarded to the club that reduces the overall cost of participating to all members

Physiotherapy support
-
S&C Support
-
Nutritional Support
-
Lifestyle mentor and academic liaison support
-
Gryphon kit
-
Dual-career focus
-
Coaching from the UoL Head of Rowing
The Rowing Scholarship fund will be used for the following:

Equipment for use whilst as a sports scholar that upon leaving the programme will be left to support future scholars

Bursary to contribute towards ongoing costs of sport including travel, race and camp fees, food, kit etc. for the nominated Sports Scholars

Financial support towards costs for athletes invited to British Rowing Performance events or international representation (eg. EUSA) that aren’t nominated Sport Scholars

Scholarships are typically awarded to any athlete on the British Rowing START programme and to any athletes invited to later stages of the British Rowing trials or performance/development camps.The Rowing Scholarship fund is only used with club members at the discretion of head of rowing to contribute towards the costs set out above, it will not fully fund any individual
COACHING SCHOLARSHIPS
Since the start of the Coaching Scholars programme at the University, there have always been 2-3 students from the rowing club each year that have benefited from the scholarship providing funding to coaching courses, mentoring, free workshops, gym membership and Leeds Gryphons kit.
UoLBC has a strong culture of volunteering. Coaching Scholarships are awarded to two to three members each year. Coaching scholars receive the following perks:
