BUCS Regatta 2025 Race Report

Regatta season kicked off in May at Holme Pierrepoint in Nottingham, with 4 days of fantastic racing and weather conditions that tested our rowing and camping!!

Here is a summary of results for our senior and beginner crews...

Friday:

OB1x - 3rd & 5th in B final, 2nd in C final

WB1x - 6th in A final, 2nd in B final, 2nd & 3rd in C final

OI2x - 6th in C final

Saturday:

WB4x - 4th in A final, 3rd in D final

OI1x - 3rd & 6th in C final, 6th in D final

WI4x - 1st in D final, 4th in Final

Sunday:

WI1x - 3rd in B final

WCH1x - 1st in C final

OB2x - 2nd in A final, 3rd in B final, 4th in C final

OI4x - 1st in C final, 4th in F final

Monday:

WB2x - 2nd & 3rd in A final

OB4x - 5th in A final

WI2x - 5th in B final

WB8+ - 1st in E final

A huge congratulations to the Open Beginner 2x who stayed cool in a stacked category and raced brilliantly in the final bringing home a silver medal!

Also to the two Women's Beginner 2x who achieved a silver and a bronze! Such an achievement to have to brilliant a) and b) crews able to battle it out on the podium - and battle they did!

Other achievements include fantastic volunteering efforts, particularly in the commentary box!

A massive thank you to BUCS and to all the staff and volunteers who made the weekend possible. They created a truly incredible atmosphere and their work doesn't go unnoticed!

A great start to racing season for the Gryphons, and things only got better...
