STATE OF THE ART BOATHOUSE

In a ground-breaking partnership between the University of Leeds, British Rowing, Sport England and Leeds Rowing Club, the Leeds Boathouse was opened in 2014. A purpose built shared facility situated 10 minutes from the city centre, and 15 minutes from Campus, we are spoilt with the stretch of quiet water here. With incredibly calm and sheltered conditions, it is an ideal location to teach our novices the basics. We then have a further 4km of canal with wide 2k straights and up to a total of 10km of open paddling water.

£1.3M S&C FACILITIES

As a Gryphon's Performance Sport at the University of Leeds, our members have access to The Edge - one of the premier university gyms in the country. Our land training, including group erg sessions and circuits are run here. Our performance athletes have access to the Strength and Conditioning Suite, where a dedicated programme is written and delivered by S+C coaches, for our needs.

FULL-TIME COACH

In January 2015 we saw the arrival of Dan Grant, taking on the new role of Head of Rowing. Dan leads the coaching for the club full time across all the squads and is supported by the clubs many volunteer coaches. There are three students in the club that are coaching scholars who receive funding towards coaching qualifications, and are on a mentored pathway programme.
