Joining UOLBC 2023-24

If you have come and found us at the Sports Fair, in the Edge, or just from our social media- there are lots of ways to get involved with the club regardless of your experience or aspirations.

If you haven't already filled out our joining form, so we can send you all the relevant info, please do so here:

For rowers with experience please contact via our social media or email d.grant@leeds.ac.uk to learn how you could join our pre-season training. Pre-season runs for 2 weeks and starts the week commencing 11th September. Our members maybe able to assist with accommodation if you would like to join but cant yet access your halls of residence.

A bit about us

We are inclusive - we turn no one away and are accessible to row socially or high performance- we can accommodate all. We're proud to be one of very few Universities offering para-rowing to people with disabilities.

We are professional - Supported by a full time head coach, part time senior, 4 coaching scholars and external support from GB rowing

We are social - a mixed gender club with socials throughout the year, no one has to drink but we'll guide you safely if you do.

No previous experience required - the majority of our members learn to row with us

Give It A Go - no strings attached

If you are new to rowing or have many years of experience come and give our club a try. If you'd rowed previously you are welcome to come and try our senior recreational or racing squads, both of which offer an accessible way to row at the level you would like to, regardless of what your current level is.

Never rowed before, or perhaps just indoors or a taster session elsewhere? Come join our beginners where we offer recreational and racing opportunities. Our beginners win BUCS medals every year and you could too. To try rowing just join one of our beginner sessions on land and water within the first few weeks. Once you've tried us for a week you can then get squad membership.

Both our senior and beginner squads have social rowing options so that you can row recreationally, in mixed boats to be as gender inclusive as possible, without the pressure of racing.

We also offer land membership to teach you how to get the best out of your indoor rowing whilst on campus, enjoy the rest the club has to offer such as socials without the short trip to our boathouse.
